Sure, you can spend twice as much and get the Panasonic CGR-D54. I got mine before there was a DVXUser battery, and it's great. But I got a DVXUser battery, and I wouldn't think twice about getting another one over the Panasonic.

I also have some Power2000 batteries that I won't even use anymore; they don't have any sort of reliable indication of actual battery life, and they don't last half as long as the DVXUser or CGR-D54 do.
