I've seen it comming for the past few months. In short it sucks but I was getting tired of the mundane video production job and I'm looking to utlize my creative talents a lot more than this job did. Maybe this is one of those things where it will be good in the long run. I did lose my hp workstation which sucks now I'm computer less.

Hope that film job will come through

Bummer man, sorry to hear it. It can absolutely be a good thing for you though - if you make it happen. Good luck. :)

Thanks Jared, yeah I plan on making it happen! Good thing I didn't get a lease on a apartment/condo. Everything happens for a reason right.

You go out there and hit the streets and realize that YOU have something to give, so good luck and keep us posted.

My mom was a very wise and kind person. She used to say that when one door closes, another one opens. Think positive. Prayer works if you are so inclined.

Trust me, it WILL be good in the long run. Just don't take what happened personally and don't let it slow you down for one second.

Good luck!

S'all good, man. I got the boot just about a year ago and it kicked me right into where I'd rather be.

Use the severance to jumpstart somethin' else, maybe?

I imagine you probably wouldn't have wanted to keep that job for 10 or so more years. Maybe they just did for you what you would have put off.

Take the advice of the others in this thread and use it as a motivation to start doing what you really want to do.

You are right no way in hell did I want that job for the next 10 years. In reality they did just do what I was dreading to do.

thanks guys again for the extra motivation.

Josh... I would say that sucks, but I tend to think things like this turn out for the best. Things are going well for you. You were just offered a job as a PA with the opportunity to work with a pro DP. Keep your chin up, my friend.

Thanks Tom. I think it will turn out for the best!

I speak from experience when I say that getting laid off rocks.

And now that you've got some free time and need for cash, I'll give you fifty bucks to go down and harass folks at WU to quit sending me requests for donations.
