I don't see how that can tempt a F55 owner. It won't get you more jobs. The F65 was never on demand and it doesn't look that different from the F55 anyway.
But this is exactly why it's priced so low. To tempt people. My guess is most would not pay more for it at this point. Or they would be selling for more. Anybody who can support a F65 is going Venice now. Those who can't support it can't pay much. So it's either drop the price to FS7 levels or they have just a very expensive and cool looking paper weight. So is the reality of big and heavier expensive cameras these days. The only reason the Alexa took so long to hit that low price zone is because it's an industry darling and has mojo. But even then only the Alexa Classic has reached that low. But when the Alexa LF hits, the other Alexas will not doubt start coming down as well. I honestly would wait for that before buying a F65 now.
The same thing will happen to the Varicam Pure and Venice one day. Maybe even faster. F55 once it starts drastically coming down it will crash down hard too. Crazy times.
Even at that price I bet it will sit there for a while. The buying price is just the tip of the iceberg. It will sell to either people who have dream of making a cool movie and become a director and are misguided that a camera like the F65 would make their movie better. Or maybe to some company which for some reason has use for one but couldn't afford it before. Very limited market for it now. Hence the low price. To be honest it might drop more. Because you can buy an Alexa for the same money and an Alexa even being old will still get you jobs. The F65 was never really on demand, let alone now. Ironic as we were talking about cameras from a business sense in another thread. The old Alexa still make more business sense than a F65 at this level.
Oh, I was somewhat oblivious to the fact there is a F900 with a S35 chip which is identical to the F35

I'm Selling an SRW9000PL - same thing as an F35 but with a few more options built in - including the 444 output!!!
only $4775... has the 444 ouptut board, and includes SLOG and SGAMUT options!!!

Interesting. But 2 things. F35 also has 444 output. And you say on reduser: Unlike F35 has SLOG and SGAMUT available at higher ISO settings! . I'm almost sure this is also available with the F35 too. I know it is with ISO450 and I'm not sure anybody would want to shoot higher ISO than that with it.

That SRW9000PL looks great! I think the 444 output is probably a single link 3G SDI output with the board that is included. Instead of the Dual HD SDI output of the F35. Should make a bunch of other recorders compatible like the amazing PIX E5 without a multiplexer. Call me a sucker, but I love the big buttons with the audio add on capability of that unit. My favorite so far, but needs Multiplexer... a pain.
Someone must be interested on that baby. I would love to have some spare $ to grab it.
On a different note: Does anyone have a spare parts Sony F35 Catalogue or a repair manual for the camera? I have looked though the posts but all I have seen are references to it by members. If it is already here I apologize, but could someone please direct me to a copy of it/them?

I know what you mean though. Not much excitement around the camera these days, but definitely has a look I want to use for certain projects. A lot of other cool cameras out there and all, but i can still find a use for this. I just feel lucky that I have 300pages worth of information instantly available, while back in the day, it was all a learning process spread out over months.

Right on! How can it be too late when till this day basically the only camera which looks as good is the Alexa? Unless of course for people who like digital looking images. Then there are a LOT of options.
So not too late at all. I don't have one and think of adding one to my Alexa everyday I look at anything shot with the F35.
I've got one that I am considering parting with.
