Just got a new camera - Sony F35

Good news, I had a phone chat with ebay, and they let me list it after all. It's going up sometime this weekend :)

I'm selling the camera because I've changed career paths, now working mostly in literature. Thus all of my current film projects are purely personal, which doesn't quite justify owning this kind of equipment. I'll probably buy a BMPCC instead.

But it's definitely with mixed feelings that I'm letting it go!

A scammer tried to buy it, sadly, so now I'm waiting to file an unpaid item claim. It will be up again in a couple of days :)

Thought that was it. Good Luck next time round. Best way to avoid it is to do bidding and place the bid at the Minimum you would take, or put a Reserve. That keep scammers away.
 
I decided to put the camera up for sale here on the forum instead. You can find it at the marketplace :) Thanks for all the good advice!

To be honest I'm not following it that close. But dhessel is about right. Although not with the viewfinder. The one selling for 5,500 on ebay doesn't included the viewfinder or IF box and other accessories. Every other one on Ebay is selling for more than that.

Ok. So the F65 has also hit rock bottom. I knew it would happen but didn't know they were already under 10K. Makes sense. If you can buy Alexas for that why not F65s?

Main problem with the F65, apart from not having the F35 mojo is that you are locked in the Sony system. It doesn't work with any other system. It's not like with the F35 that you can pretty much use any recorder you want. So no making the camera lighter with the F65. It has only one mode. Beast mode. It outputs only 1080p as well. No external 4K recording possible. Not even 4K monitoring possible as far as I know. No recording to prores or choice of codec. You are locked into the Sony codec. It's a very closed system. Because of that I think it won't have the second life the F35 has. Most people shopping for a 10K camera don't have the way to handle a system like the F65.

Yes, the price I said I feel is a fair price. If you look around long enough and stay off ebay you can find them for around that price. I recall several F35's going for around $4200 with out a VF.

wow, that's amazing for F65... even if no mojo. That is new bottom, especially when HDVF-C30WR is selling for $3500 :shocked:

It's damn tempting.
