Just got a new camera - Sony F35

I set the rear tally light on the camera to flash red when the battery drops below 13v, which usually means I have two minutes to change it. You can set it to whatever voltage you like in the menu.
 
Anyone capturing audio to the Odyssey 7Q+? If so how? The 3.5mm doesn't seem to work, and the SDI A is in use for the F35. I don't plan on capturing high quality audio but I would like to capture refernce audio for ease of use when editing and ADR
 
Ok, I'll check my setup for some reason that wasn't working when I tried it. Could be a problem with my IF Box or a setting. Thanks!
 
Sony F35 has a menu setting that determines whether IF box audio is routed to SDI audio channels 1/2 or to SDI audio channels 5/6. As I recall, the Odyssey may not catch audio on SDI 5/6 correctly coming from the F35.
 
Yup, you are correct I found it in the system earlier 5/6 are reserved for the SR-R1 I believe, and that's what it had been set to. It works fine now even through single link on 1/2 SDI :)
Only problem I'm experiencing now is the levels are super low and pumping them up through the 7Q introduces a ton of noise on the wireless AVX system....

I'm sure you've already looked at this, but I've only had that problem when line/mic/+48 was set incorrectly.
 
How do you find the Optica Elites wide-open Alexey? How would you say they compare to standard like the older Zeiss MkIII Superspeeds? Or newer ones like the Master Primes?
 
Anyone have the Lanpart VCT shoulder rig or pictures of the mod or can tell me where to drill it to attach it to the cam?
I took the quick release and mount off, I'm only going by the directions on 239 of this thread but something seems to be missing? If I drill/tap through the baseplate on the VCT it seems I will also have to drill through the shoulder pad as well otherwise I will not have access to the 3/8 mounting screws?
 
Back when I had the F35 and the Lanparte VCT shoulder system I did have to drill a hole thru the shoulder pad to access the 3/8th. No biggie outside of cosmetics, though. I also milled a slot in the top of the deck (with the QR removed, of course) toward the front where I could put in a second screw to stabilize twist. That screw was always a pain to set, though because I needed to take the 15mm rail "jeep grill" off the front of the shoulder system to get at it and use a 90 degree screw driver ratchet to set it. Very much a "set it and forget it" set up, which is fine because the VCT mount made it easy to pop back and forth.

Elites mk3 are usable wide open with some sharpening) I can't compare to superspeeds or masterprimes because I didn't tried them(
PS both my 35 and 50 mm elites have strange flares on bright objects at infinity full open but these flares dissapear if closed to F2
