Just got a new camera - Sony F35

I am almost done with my shortfilm, LA91.
We'll be showing it in Los angeles soon, so of course, everyone in here is invited!

Cool, Mac!
Sadly I can't make it, but if you're feeling bold thena password protected online screener would be pretty boss. You know, for us kids who aren't cool and can't be in LA.
But I'd understand if you'd rather not.

Yeah, at the time it was a choice between the Cinedeck or the Convergent Gemini. In the end I went with the Cinedeck because I did not like being locked into Convergent's proprietary media. And the cinedeck had loads of codec choices.

yeah, the cinedeck eats way much more battery than the f35. Hate this fat thing.

I got a question: when i want to record 50p 422 to the cinedeck, i get this error after 5 sec of recording:

Tried another codec than filmscan, all other codecs i tried i get the same error just when i hit the record button (tried also all possible settings). Is the SSD too lame? (Crucial M550) ??

Does 25P 444 work OK? I'm not sure about the SSD, the Intel I used (820) worked with everything.

It is worth double checking your BNCs - they can get damaged easily. If you're spotting flash frames anywhere, that will be why.

24p 444 12bit worked well.
BNC: I got 6 here, 2 were new, same problem.

But how can be the SSD too lame. The M550 Crucial do 520mb/s easily, and the 1080p 50p 422 Filmscan 2 material is 50mb/s. Last week it worked well with 50p, than one day not, than it worked again and today not :(
This thing really frustrating me.

PS: Here

on point 12 they say UNCHECK "Enable write caching on the disk". If I follow their instruction, the 24p mode isn´t working too.

Some HDDs actually need that option checked... it is confusing.

I recommend contacting Cinedeck directly - they were always really quick to respond, and very helpful people in general.

Might even be a configuration issue. The cinedeck is fairly "dumb"

Anyone tried the Oddysey Slog1 lut?
"S-Log1 to Rec.709(800%) with no colour space change, matching the in-camera MLUT
S-Log1 to Rec709_800.cube"
