Just got a new camera - Sony F35

Hey guys, lets do paypal: mac@blackmilk.eu
We are 3 for now, if we end up being more, we can split the difference. pretty simple with paypal.
Justin I have your email already. I can send you the file.
Mlysbakken, send me yours!

Got it Thanks!

What LUT did we get exactly? sLog to linear? slog to lin to film print?

It's the 1 LUT to rule them all. XDDDD

It goes from Slog directly to film print emulation.

Use it as an output LUT, or even better, I like adding it as a node so that I can do all color and exposure adjustments BEFORE the LUT, and minor black level tweaks after the LUT. That way you get the best of it.

Its great to have the "all in one", but I still want the option to try different film print emulations, is your original slog to cineon good enuf for that? how did you make it btw, a reverse LUT?
Should we get Steve to make a proper 3D slog->cineon input LUT for us and split that too? so we can try different print looks?

My Slog-cineon is pretty accurate. Same as the one you'd get from lightillusion. If you want to try different film print emulations, use that SLog to cineon and then add whatever you like afterwards.

Geez, I go to Liberia for a week and this thing blows up. So, if we want conversion to a single type of film stock we can go in with Miguel on the lightillusion LUT, otherwise the one Miguel made as input, plus the ones from http://juanmelara.com.au/ for output will get us what we need? Is that a fair summation?

<<<I think I like more the flexibility of my 2 LUTs than the lightillusion one.

Justin, how are those tests coming out sir?

As a general concept I do as well - Your SLOG to Cineon plus the Lustre/Smoke LUTS for Fuji/Kodak prints give some great results and you have some flexibility on the final characteristics.

Mac, do you have your F35 within reach yet? I want to send the gammas to you for testing, as the Cineon gamma with the most latitude is clipping blacks severely.
I've put all settings to either none or default as the readme suggests, but black still clips.
I asked Steve, but he hasn't been much help.

On a sad note, whilst shooting hand held, I cracked my cinedeck screen when the lanparte base touched the screen (as the cinedeck was around my waist)
So I'm using the BM hypershuttle till thats sorted out. I cant do any 50P testing for while, apologies.

I hadn't opened this thread in months. I was curious to see what was going on here. Wow that image at the top looks AWESOME.
