Just got a new camera - Sony F35

Contact take2films, they might still have. Be cheeky, offer £5800 ;)

What sort of expense are you looking at nowadays to get a working F35 together after the body?
Hard to justify ownership of such a potentially expensive used camera for me, but it is such a nice image!

To be honest I can't recall all the prices/options, but it's all covered in this thread.

It is a commitment, and you have to be prepared and fully aware of what you need to get to a full working package. But after everything, it's been worth it for me.
Some have gone bare bones, others fully kitted.
Its not more than a C300 package, but much more image value.
If something goes bang, depending on the part, its potentially an expensive affair, and if you have a wife, she might leave you, but buying another body for spare parts is not a bad idea (and you can do a 2 cam shoot while they both still alive! ;) and I have it insured, so another body would be an easy replacement (dunno how your country insurance works, but mine will cover anything that goes wrong, up to the value I paid for the body)

Off the top of my head:

F35 (with HDVF viewfinder)
4x Swit Vlock 190w/h Batteries, Vlock chargers
CineDeck (used, incl ssd drives, but you could use a BM Hyperdeck or similar)
Tilta handles, lanparte shoulder pad
PL to Nikon conversion

+- £ 11 200

But I had nikon lenses, if you have PL then no conversion.

Hope this helps.

Interesting, thanks for the info! I had a scan of the whole thread, just takes a while to filter the relevant info in 118 pages!

That sounds reasonable for the kind of image you get over a c300 or similar priced camera...

cheers will have to look into it

I'm not sure yet but if I can work out a deal with friends who own f35's- I may sell mine after I'm done with this particular project. Not because I don't love it, but because I only use it for about 1 week per month.

What type of Bag is everyone using? Looking for a functional but small bag to carry F 35 body and it's accessories. Smaller the better. Not to travel on airplanes or anything. Just around town.

Seems about right, but PL lenses will set you back a good deal more than Nikkors will. I'm seriously looking into the Nikon conversion. For the price of one sorta decent wide PL zoom I can pay for the conversion and get a solid kit of fast Nikon primes (to add to the fast-ish Nikon zooms I already have that cover from 17 to 200). And I'd still have money left over.

Damn that was supposed to be private- fixed now. Sorry im in the middle of ruff cuts to share with agency and client, I can't make it public at the moment, but the project will be done really soon and I'll post then (probably this weekend or early next week) sorry dudes!

We wanted to do some camera tests before taking it on the road for 3 weeks, so we agreed to shoot a video in and around LA for our friends in Dallas (the band). We won't have time to put an edit together until we get back, but I couldn't resist slapping a quick LUT on a few clips and taking some screen grabs. Hunter, I was thinking of you when we were on the beach.
