First one's easy. Duplicate the video onto another track. On the top one, make a mask that traces the right side of the car and covers the whole left side of the frame:

Change the mode to negative, then add a linear blur of about .4 that is perfectly horizontal. Don't forget to feather a lot to make it blend nicely.

The second one requires a plugin called Radiance from Velvetmatter (sp?).

Nicely done. I loved the FX and cc you accomplished.

You seem open to input (obviously), so you might consider switching the music up a bit. To really take the ADD approach to its fullest, try different break beats with stops-and-starts.

"But - I cut and did FX to the music!" you might say. So what? Trim it up or slide stuff around. A music change can bring a whole different vibe to any of those sections. Hell - just throw in a random track under it and take a look. You'll be amazed by the 'happy accidents' of effects that already line up with hits and beats. Others could be moved easily. The sooner you've married yourself to one cut of music, chances are the sooner it will grow tired. Just as you've created some mood with edits and effects, do the same with your viewer's ears.

I realize it sounds like a pain but it's not. I do shoot but editing's been paying my bills for the last 14 years. Sad but true. Lots of dark rooms with no windows. So - really challenge yourself to force some music mixing.

Also consider the sounds of the cars themselves. Even if they're canned sound effects, we're not hearing any of those horses. Rattle some pipes.

Keep up the great work too by the way!

Thanks for the feedback!
I tried amplifying the audio from the stock dvx mics but it didn't turn out too well, so I left it at it's original levels. It would have been better with good sound though. Maybe next time. And changing up the music is a good idea as well. The song is actually over 9 minutes long, and I kept cutting more and more parts of it out so it doesn't get too boring. It's hard enough getting the license to use one song, another would have been much harder.
Enough excuses. Thanks again.

That depends on where you plan to distribute your clip. Is it internet-only? Who will see it? Also - do you need vocals?

There are loads of royalty-free music tracks available (some great - some terrible). If it's internet-only, you can get a deal from houses that normally do broadcast. Pump Audio rocks and their music is better than most libraries I've used......

Show 'em the clip, explain you don't have money and see what happens. They've loaned out music before with the hopes of future business. Just a thought.

Didn't mean to get all nitpicky - I think you have done some great work there. A few music tweaks and that thing could really rock.

Thanks for the recommendation!

Fantastic footage. A+.
Which magic bullet preset were you tweaking/working with?

Sharp or basic, can't remember. Doesn't really matter because they're both neutral enough before tweaking. They wouldn't have been that way without levels and brightness/contrast in front of mb.
