Just discovered Fry's

So I just discovered fry's electronics today, about 15 min from my house. Anyways, for those of you who havn't been there before, it is a total geek wetdream. I just got a 400GB Seagate for $129, plus a spindle of 100 DVD+R discs, with a printable surface for $29. I havn't found this kind of deal even online. Just thought I would let everyone know who has been in the dark about fry's for so long. It seriously seems too good to be true. Well if the hard drive explodes and takes out my computer with it, then I guess it would just seem fitting for the situation.

Hit 'em up day after Thanksgiving -- that's when the real fun can be had! Last year I was in line by 3am... picked up my 25" TV for $59! Went there last week for a power supply and walked out with a new case AND power supply for the same price.

Why did no one tell me about this place before. Just two months ago I got a nice 20 widescreen LCD, I'm afraid to see how much the same one is at Fry's :(

I miss that place. The closest one to me is outside Atlanta, and at 3.5 - 4 hours of driving, that's just too far.

Yep......I'm a frysaholic myself.....but.....be leary of off brand stuff like CD's that are really cheap and on sale. You still have to be a wise shopper.

Fry's is crack in the form of a store. Everyone becomes an addict.

The return policy is legendary, although it means you often end-up buying someone else's return. However, I have had some good discounts that way.

The help there is horrible but the prices are good. Newegg.com is the web version of Frys in terms of prices. But, Newegg is much better for help.

I don't get the whole deal....they have everything, but it's like a weird cross between and Costco and a Persian bizarre....very strange. I don't need a good deal that badly.

No biggie, just had to give an alternate view. :)

yeah they have a lot of returned items for sale, so you gotta cautious.

i use to live in norther cali and the fry's in sunnyvale was really nice. use to like to just kick there drinking coffee and reading the mags

Wow. I had stopped shopping Fry's because the value wasn't worth the trek, but $129 for a 400GB Seagate? I Just paid that same amount for a 300. Time to Fry Trek again.

I second the motion for Newegg.com. No affiliation, but I've ordered a decent number of things from them, and they've been great every time. Great prices, too.
