No, and I don't know what that camera would be anyway. Splitting the difference between these cams would result in some weird Canon XL thingy and I don't think Pana is moving in that direction.
it is hard to think of a "better HVX" without stepping on the HPX's toes but a native imager with a fixed lens, or the reverse... those would be quite the natural step...
but as long as the HVX holds strong in sales they won't move a finger
I found a WEVA letter on the web asking Panasonic for an "inbetween HVX and HPX shoulder camera" - suggesting there is something on the way.
To be honest, I cant imagine such a model - since it would compete with either model...
What should be saved on ? The LCD? The interch. lens system? 4ch Audio?
On the other hand - Sony introduces a lot of different cams at the moment (XDCAM HD, XDCAM EX, new HDV Shoulder cams) - so noone knows whats coming next from other manufacturers...
Exactly.... 1/2 inchers are desirable enough to wonder if the "better" gamma curve of the Pana is enough to get the HVX...
Ther really have to do something... not immediately... but if they want to remain undisputed champion of the segment they might have to make an "HVX-250" at least... right?
