Just bought my DVX!

I just bought my DVX from a guy who knew nothing about it and I have only one problem, I can't get it to record time code. On the screen where the TC normally is it says VB 00 00 00 00. It must be a setting that I am missing somewhere, it did not come with a book or anything. Please help me stop freaking out
 
It's recording timecode, don't worry. You have it displaying the user bit codes, but the timecode is still being recorded on the tape.

Push the "counter" button and it'll cycle through the display options, one of them is timecode.
