Just bought FS700 - Upgrade Question

I know its an older camera but I still think after much thinking it one of the best bang for bucks there is and I dont see that changing soon. I will be getting a 7Q as well but the camera body I got doesn't have the new 3.0 firmware. Does anyone know the cost of getting the camera upgraded now? Or if I take it to NAB do they do a deal on it?
 
You can contact Sony Service to find out the price for the upgrade. But I must point out that you don't want to confuse the FS7 & FS700 updates. It's been some time since the last FS700 update. If you go into the menus and find that you can choose RAW as an output (MENU -> REC/OUT SET -> REC SET -> 4K/HD/SD SET), then you're all set.
 
I dont know for sure let as I have not get the camera but the company said it was a FS700U model so i take it that is what it will be and it will need upgrading. Thank You though, I will contact this week once I get the camera.
 
I was $400 when I got it I believe. Hopefully they are still doing them, I can't imagine using my FS700 without slog2 or raw/prores via 7q!
 
Oh ya same here, Im calling on monday to make sure. To me the FS700 is still an amazing camera, small and light when you need but then you can rig up to fit most shooting needs from Pro Res and Raw, 2k 4K HFR and PL lens
 
Sony is still doing the FW upgrades for the FS700. I just had mine done at the LA service center. $400. They rushed it back to me FedEx next morning. Superb service.
