Just received my DVX-100B in the mail today and the previous owner took good care of it. On top of that it only has 163 hours on it.

Chris in Decatur, Georgia. If you are a part of this forum thank you so much. Chris included a lot of accessories including the original with two 5 hour batteries, A really good camera back pack, a rewinder, 24ft firewire. To make it even better the original handbook!

Here are a few photos

while I am going to use it to film, as with my PV-DV400 I will use it as my "web/skype" Cam. I noticed that even though modern webcams have to ridiculous contrast a 24p or 30p SD camera looks way better than the crap they have passing for web cams now-a-days.

Would have sold you my DVX100B - how much did you pay for it? Love the camera but everything is HD and moving quickly to 4K. I now use a DVX200 and love it.

I know the feeling. Been wanting a Canon XL1s since I was a kid (the camera on the front of ALL the magazines!), and finally came across one at a garage sale last week. Mint condition and fully operational for just $20. It's fun to step back a bit in time, and use yesterday's tools with the skills learned since then. Kind of gives some confidence that it's not JUST the camera making the images!

If nothing else, it looks really great as an office decoration.

An XL1s for $20?! Lucky Duck! I loved both the DVX100 (first model) and the XL1s.. great cameras! Your steal on the XL reminds me of my SDX900 body I got for $10. Fully working! Dont you love it when you get a major steal like that?

you guys got me thinking I need to pickup one of these for my steadicam practice.

Still have mine and it's not leaving.

BTW - Just buzzed by after a few years off to see if this forum is still ticking. Glad to see it is and active.

I previously owned a Dvx100b (pal) and always liked the footage it produced, but i sold it on back in the day. I recently watched back a few things i shot on it and it still looks good. So today, i randomly stumbled across a pair of dvx100 on ebay going for half nothing and couldn’t resist, so I snagged them for €150 delivered. One is pal with 600h on the clock, the other is ntsc with 300h, with loads of extras. Presuming they’re still working well, i’m pleased with the buy. I’ll use them for youtube stuff mainly and maybe some live events. I still have an sd broadcast monitor here and a firewire cable, so the step back in time should be fun.

Was organizing gear the other day and realized I still have the SDX900 and DVX100 sitting around. I should be shooting with those cameras now more than ever. When else will I have time to mess with standard def?

Back in 2012, I worked at a company that had XL-2s paired with Focus Enhancements FS-H200 FireWire to CF recorders. It was so nice to have a flash memory workflow, as I had gotten accustomed to it with my D7000.

One time I had to repair an FS-H200 a couple days before a big event, because some dummy (not me) forced a CF card in the wrong way, and bent some of the pins. I didn't have an electronic repair kit, and couldn't order one in time, so I took a piece of wire, bent a loop at the end, and used it to hook the bent pins and raise them up.

The company also had a 7D, so we mostly used that, but we used the XL-2s for long events.

Wow!! I remember those focus enhancements. Blast from the past.
