Just bought a NEX-5, any recommendations?

Hey folks,

as the title says i just bought a NEX-5 kit used from a local camera store: a 16mm f2.8 Pancake, a 18-55, and the big 18-200, the microphone, 16gb MemoryStick for just 630 Euros excluding 20% tax and i guess i made a nice deal :D

I already tested the lenses a bit, the IS on the 18-200 is insane, supersteady! ISO 1600 seems usable to me...

do you have any recommendations for me?

I'd like to know which PP's to use in what shooting conditions and if there are any settings for fps on the NEX-5.

Is there any advantage using MP4 as recording format vs. AVCHD?

great deal man! personally, I would put the nex5 up on ebay and get a nex5n. the nex5n allows a lot more video functionality such as manual control of shutter, etc. for the time being, if you set the camera recording and have the exposure looking right, half press and hold the shutter release button and it will lock the settings so the camera doesnt auto adjust during a pan for example.
 
Thanks for your reply richg, i will think of selling it, the manual controls of a 5N would really be worth an upgrade, thanks for the tip, didn't discover that yet :)
I mainly bought this kit because i want to buy a FS700 this year and wanted to have a set of stabilized lenses for run & gun stuff in addition to my prime set...
a 5N would definiteley be a good B or C camera, could also be used for FOV stuff or in narrow spaces..
 
Definitely try to get your hands on a 5N! Video functionality is impressive for such a small, stock body.

i sold my nex 5 shortly after i came up with this thread - bought a FS700 and now, since my wedding holidays are just weeks away i really would like to have a nex5n finally :)

would you still recommend a nex 5n or are there any other better and cheaper solutions from sony in the nex league?
