I do not know what this means... anyone?

a less expensive camera used to get the data off the tapes and into the computer for editing. resulting in less wear on the heads of the dvx100.

I use a sony TRV25.

hmmm thats weird...not to alarm you but thats what those scam companies do, they have you call them and then try and...well...scam you. Hopefully that isnt the situation here, like i said they checked out with the better business bureau so hopefully everything works out.

Will that work if I shoot 24p or 30p with a DVX100b even though the little "inexpensive"
camera doesn't shoot it?

From my understanding it should work just fine even if the capture cam can't shoot 24p or 30p because the very nature of panasonic capturing process on the miniDV still captures footage readable by all mini DV cameras. To extract the true 24p you'll need to use "pulldown" in your NLE program, but the device shouldn't matter.

Someone can correct me if I'm wrong because I've never used a capture cam.

the DVX100 shoots 29.97 NTSC or 25 PAL. the pulldown is done by the NLE either during or after capture.

From what I read I understood it as the DVX doing in-camera pulldown in order for the 24p to be spread out to 29.97 interlaced. The process of pulldown is simply that, fitting 24 frames into 29.97 interlaced fields.

The NLE system removes the pulldown that is performed in the DVX to extract the true 24p frames.

Good news! I received my camcorder today! I am thrilled with it, and nothing is missing! Thanks Profeel! BUT: I do recommend buying from B&H next time.

I just got my second DVX tonight as well.
DVX100a with anamorphic lens + 4 batteries and one nine hour battery. 80 hours on the camera.
