Hey Guys,
There's so many people on this site (myself included) who have a dvx, love to shoot, but don't really like to write or don't consider script writing our forte. We end up shooting little things we think look cool, some of us end up posting foilage footage, and others create little clips to test form and technique. I wonder how this forum experience might benefit from a permanent section (other than the script discussion) where writers can post short scripts, dialogue exchanges, story ideas..or maybe where dvx owners who are pining to shoot a little clip for fun can post and hook up with a writer who might have some really short idea they might want to see filmed. This way, instead of people posting screen grabs and footage from test shoots and things they did in 4 minutes asking if it 'looks like film', they could be posting actual short films that have a plot and some solid dialogue and interesting characters. I'm just wondering, aside from the DVX-Fest contests, if there's a more permanent way to foster writer/director/cinematographer collaborations on this forum, no matter how short the concept. As much as I love the all too common 'i was bored, don't use my dvx enough, so i figured i'd shoot some leaves' posts, I think some members of this forum could benefit from furthering their directing and production skills instead of just trying to achieve the most filmic image possible.
just a thought :engel017:
