jump in video during pans

hi, i'll probably get ridiculed and humiliated for posting this but i havn't seen any mention of it in the last several months so... here goes... i'm shooting to tape right now 'cause i think that i am waiting for the cineporter to come out but i have noticed on multiple occasions that when i do slow pans of detailed or even semi-detailed subjects i get a jump in my video. the video seems to still frame and then milliseconds later skip about 15 frames forward whereas it continues back to normal. i was hoping it was just the lcd and viewfinder but it's not, it's on the tape. i was going to wait and see if it happened when not shooting to tape but i thought i'd just ask right now being as it might be a while for the cineporter to come out. just wondering if anyone else has seen this, lemme know. hope i haven't opened myself up to be the laughing stock of dvxuser.com, i'm being sarcastic, but anyways, thanks in advance.

Perhaps you have image stabilization on? I know that if you have it on, your pans will jump like that. Make sure you press the OIS button and see the hand dissapear from your LCD. Make sure everything takes seven seconds to pan across your LCD. With these two things done, you should not have image jump. Welcome to DVXuser, it is awesome here!

This was recently covered in another thread. OIS should be turned off when you utilize hi-hats, tripods or any other steady device. The subtle movement of a tripod panning isn't within the operational parameters of the OIS system.

Report back though if you continue to see this with OIS off?
