Hi, i was wondering what would let me have the best results for my camcorder hdr-cx550v.

I could plug a shot gun (like the rode NTG2) in a juicedlinked plugged in my camcorder.

OR i could plug a rode video mic pro directly in my camcorder.

What you suggest me ?

Any other options (except the option of having dual sound and a video. I prefer to have the sound recorded on the camcorder over using a recorder)
thanks

If keeping your audio in-camera on your camcorder, I'd go with the JuicedLink or similar simply because it opens up the world of microphones through balanced XLR connection, meaning longer cable runs (for using the mic separated from the camera) and a higher-quality selection of mics and the ability to use a mixer with easier connection. If it's a question between the VideoMic Pro and the NTG-2, and you're willing to go either way, go with the NTG-2.

I have a VideoMic Pro, and I love it for what it is. It is not great for boomed us, or really much else than an on-camera improvement over the built-ins, because of the unbalanced connection. I have a better mic for primary dialog recording (NTG-3).
