thanks for your comments. yeah i totally agree with malcolm. we are not there to bash you. we are there to help. a demo it'S a pass to enter into agency. they know you had no budget. they know that it was independant. you are not sending a demo to get a 5 millions production job. you are doing this to let them know you have talent. you have what it takes to start at the bottom. maybe direct a commercial , a music video. depend of what they are searching. depend of what you are capable of. maybe you can have a beautiful demo but it'S not what they are searching to create they film , their project. it's a question of luck and talent. be there at the right time it'S a cliché but i think it'S true. when it's your time it will be. look at my demo. all my film i did them without any budget. in like 3h each. i shoot very quickly and i'm trying to do the best that i can with what i have. if you try to make it too big i think you will loose essence of the original idea. always stay focus on the idea. the door in the water scene in my short well i find a lake, bought a door. it was too expensive so i trashed it in the store so that i can have a discount
it cost me 5$ in the scene i turn the door over and you don'T see anything and i got a door in the water. be creative , try to find ways to do some incredible stuff. if it's horror, action whatever ... be who you are. find your style because i think a demo it'S what you've done but it's an exemple of who you are. just the way you edit your demo it will tell you everything about you. the agency knows that and they want this too. they want to understand you. for them to do that they need to have a wonderful demo. yeah take your camera and go film anything. create moments, create a little short . film anything and put it in if it'S very good. microshort can save you sometimes.
