Johnnie Walker: Walk

Quite an impressive delivery technique and a great story told with a skip in his step.

How long has it been since you walked that far on an old dirt road and what did you have to show for it?

He was marching to the tune of his own music in his head.

Just saw this...very,very cool. Simple idea executed to perfection. Really? How long did it take to time that just right? Super neat.

The op wasn't necessarily walking backwards. The rig can be turned to shoot back while the op walks forward.

Or he could have been on some sort of all terrain vehicle? Remember the long steadicam shot in Atonement? Half the time the guy was on a golf cart or rig-shaw type vehicle. He very well could have walked the whole distance, but I doubt it.

Did you notice there was a credit for "Unit nurse"? I'll bet she bandaged up a few boo-boos in that production. I am currently having a hell of a time trying to do a simple narration while walking up to the camera from 30 meters away in an alley here in Kyoto. Someone always shouting or banging pots and pans in the houses.

Do you thing the narration is live or dubbed in the studio? Would be hard to get it right either way.

I Believe George (Steadicam Operator) was using a Rickshaw being pulled by a couple of grips and at the post production stage they stabilised the footage, not that there was much to stabilise as George's execution of the shot was brilliant but they had more than enough real estate to play within the image.
