F35: John in Slo Motion - F35 at 60FPS via Odyssey 7Q+

thats funny I have SRW1 with 102 without the 103.

I bought a few IF boxes from a seller in japan on eBay but I haven't seen him list anymore for a while. I got a different design IF box also which doesn't have 4 pin power.

Can you feed quad-link SDI from dual IF boxes on the F35, into the Odyssey 7Q for 50p 4:4:4 recording?

No. Odyssey7Q can accept Dual-Link 3G-SDI for this, not Quad-Link 1.5G-SDI as output from the F35.

does this mean you could multiplex the signals and run dual link into the recorder to get 444 50p?

just for clarification, this is the case with both the 7q and 7q+ right?

Really not worth trying to get 50 444 into the 7Q through 2 IF boxes. Consider the cost: 2nd IF box $800, 2 x Aja LUT box to act as multiplexer (AJA LUT box is only proven multiplexer which works with F35) $1400.

At this point you are dealing with a lot of crap and cables and extra items to power.

Why not buy a codex if you need 50P 444 or a SRW1?

Yeah, with the addition of the multiplexer too, I think it's more trouble than it's worth for the amount of high speed work I do. I get the impression the 7Q also needs to split the recordings over dual SSDs at that super-high datarate.

Running dual multiplexers is asking for timing sync trouble, but in theory it might work. Maybe.

This is the same for the 7Q and 7Q+.

DX 4:4:4 over 30p requires two SSDs for recording what are VERY large data rates.
