LOL.Thread shut down in 3...2...1...
What's to shut down? A dvx makes the news- her company does web vids.

...thank you Cons Penguin.
Good luck with this working in entertainment. Remember thinking is not allowed. I have to agree that honestly I don't see a political discussion coming from a chick with a DVX. And generally the discussions here a pretty civil. There are those of us who actually think about our politics and it is nice to have a place where we are not assaulted by the typical hollywood belief system. Here (for the most part) posts revolve around making movies and we get to carry on civil conversations (for the most part). Only real problem I have with the no politics rule is the mods tend to let the pro left posts linger a bit and lock down the pro right posts a lot quicker IMO.
Hey, if I was John Edwards I would of hit that........
You can certainly do all those things - just not here. If you don't like it here, please feel free to take your discussions to one of those other places. Thanks for respecting the policies that have made DVXUser so successful for five years running. The guys who run this site don't believe in free speech, sadly. Thanks Cryogenic. This is exactly how we feel about it.It's their site. They can do anything they want. You don't have to be here. I don't have to be here but I choose to be here.
I like the fact that politics is *(for the most part) off limits. Here (for the most part) posts revolve around making movies and we get to carry on civil conversations (for the most part).
We try to exterminate posts equally quickly. Recently we've tried having a lighter hand on it, letting things linger around longer to see if they're gonna head south. I tend to think we should keep an equally no-tolerance policy, but we're always willing to experiment to refine how the forum runs, and we've tried having a more lax hand on that rule. For the most part it hasn't backfired on us, but posts like Eastside's above are pretty much the reason why I prefer to have a clear-cut no-questions-asked rule: so we don't even start down the path.Only real problem I have with the no politics rule is the mods tend to let the pro left posts linger a bit and lock down the pro right posts a lot quicker IMO.
Exactly. Thanks, Callaghan.Just like a seasoned bartender will tell you, "Lay off the religion and politics in here."
Some taboos are good for business.
