Jo-Leko UV protection

So I have seen a lot of 800W Jo-Leko's onset lately and was wondering if it's safe to point the light source at someone since in order to assemble the light you have to remove the UV beaker from the Joker. So far I have only seen them used as a bounce source.

I would appreciate a thoughtful explanation instead of a simple yes.

Thanks!!!

My **understanding** is things like par lenses or fresnel lenses block enough UV.

But I was reading that some news-crew reporter types are having eye problems from on-camera HMIs and the word is getting out to check for UV gels.

A sheet is the same as a regular gel, about 12 bucks… can't hurt to have some extra protection if you're worried.
