Jittery Footage while recording?

EDIT: I'm referring to 24p.

I might be completely off here, but I've seen people mention that while recording the video looks all jittery/strobing-ish. After hearing that, I remember reading about that in a review sometime back.

I'm just curious because mine doesn't seem to do this. The footage looks the same from when I shoot up until it's loaded to my hard drive. Is this odd? Or am I supposed to be seeing a less subtle change? Just curious because mine seems to play through fine at all times and I've been wondering about this for a few days now (I've only had the camera a couple weeks now).

I believe it's page 17 in the dvx bible.

I only notice it in 24pa, 24p seems to look fine. I also mostly shoot and a 24 shutter so i get smoother blurs. Of course this is only when the camera is moving too fast.

twocik, I'm sorry if that last post came out sounding jack-ass-ish. What i mean was in my original post I was not trying to ask why there is strobing/jitteryness, but why I've heard about it before but never seemed to have experienced this with my camera.

Thanks for the reply. I seem to get the same thing even when using 24pa (no jitter/strobe). Maybe I'm just not noticing it? Or is it pretty obvious? To me, my 24p and 24pa look exactly the same, no strobe on either.

It's cool, I just thought you didn't read the book. lol

The stutter is simply a part of the 24/25p function - it stutters just like film does. It's part of the film look :)

Although, the shutter speed does alter the stutter a lot. Your footage will look smooth but blurry with the shutter on 1/25, and really stroby at 1/500.

That part I understand, I was just referring to what I've heard about a different jitter/strobe effect that you see while recording, yet isn't apparent during playback. I remember reading it in a few reviews and also hearing others mention it on this board before.
