Jib on a dolly

Good point. The dana dolly runs out of real estate pretty quickly though with boxes in the way!

I know it's probably the wrong tool where it excels as a slider more than a dolly replacement but it's good to find out exactly what you can get away with if you don't have access to anything else.

Do you think a heavily bagged dutti dolly with bazooka would be fine?

I think a bagged Dutti is probably about as good as you’ll get short of a full-sized dolly. There’s a big step up when you move to proper dollies, but I think the wider platform of the Dutti would give it superior stability over a Dana Dolly or slider. The fact you can easily set it up to run on tracks on the ground, or plonk it on speedrail (a la Dana Dolly) makes it significantly more versatile too.

Well the X Jib Pro is a step up from the previous accordion style jibs I posted. The first shot in the second video has a good amount of shake going on but the second shot looks pretty smooth. The regular X Jib is $3500; have to contact them for the price of the X Jib Pro.

For just $170k (or seven Arri Signature primes) can get a Technocrane 15 with accessories. Super smooth.
