Jeremy Hyler, Matthew B. Moore and Cory Doggett " PROJECT: UNTITLED"

YOU MUST PROTECT THIS HOUSE!!!

OMG! That was just NOT my type of film but so well done.

The cinematography and high speed visuals are just incredible.

There is so much to see in this film but I don't think that I can watch it again.

You really have done a great job here. I wish that I enjoyed it, but I was holding my mouth under the collar of my shirt the whole time.

Great work! I feel bad that I can't say more. You know what the hell you're doing, that's for sure!

I hope your next entry is a comedy!

Congratulations for inflicting your intended reaction on me! :) You did it!

(What a horror flick!)

Dude, when I was editing it, I had to hold back the puke blast a few times. And after the sound effect...blarff. I'm used to action gore, you know, slash, blood, gone. Hyler had my brain swimming around in a pool of blood for several days. Not good for sleeping to say the least.

Wow, that's funny you say that Ted, because to me, the violence and gore in this were so over the top and cartoonish, it really didn't gross me out or scare me at all. It was a lot sillier than scary, kind of like Urine Trouble. I realized they weren't taking this stuff too seriously, so I just rolled with it and enjoyed watching the goop fly. Again, I lost it with the cheese-grater. I laughed so hard at that.

Some of the other movies in the fest that did straight up mutilation in a realistic fashion had the effect you describe, but this was just fun. And I'm not a gore guy.

Watching it again, I do think the last line needed a lot more "BAM," sort of like how Sigourney Weaver nailed it in Aliens: "Get away from her you *****!" Now THAT was a bad-assed woman...

But that's pretty minor. Goofy and fun little flick.

Hmmmm..... I guess I am going to have to bite the bullet and watch this again. I did find the humor in this, really... but there was so much violence... it had an impact on me.

Urine Trouble was cartoonish (thank god!). This felt MUCH different than that!

And Mark, I am glad that you mentioned that last line. I meant to include that in my review. I wanted her to PUNCH that line, as you said.

(I still feel that this could be a new commercial for Under Armor gear! YOU MUST PROTECT THIS HOUSE!!!) :)

I think that this had something to do with the editing and just how much time was really spent selling the special effects. I pointed out, in my review, that the shoulder chopping scene was focused on a bit too long, allowing use to see how the Axe kind of pivoted on it's "sharp edge" and played atop the flesh instead of looking like it were lodged in. The same with the head chopping: it doesn't exactly go into the cranium like you'd expect, but sits against it.

It's a case of doing what you know you can do well, or working around it.

Not that they were horrible, I just think this contributes to the reason they weren't so "convincing" or strong.

I know that I didn't go in depth on some of the effects. I, too, thought that the axe shot was held WAY TOO LONG (which confused me because that seemed like an easy fix) and the head business didn't make me feel like a head was really being lopped off.

My overall comment was more on the fact that this was a lot of brutal hack and slash for a film that didn't have that much of a story. It was a weird brutal film and not my cup of tea.

My mouth under my collar line was accurate. I did sit there watching this like this. Not because I was repulsed by the grotesque images, but the total non-stop violence of it.

Probably said too much now! :)

Great short!!Loved it .
The only issue I have is the axe scene , I thought the axe should of been well into the victim and not looking as it just sitting on top of his arm/head etc .
Other than that ..LOVED IT!!!!!!!

Oh yeah, but I meant the overall vibe was more fun than nasty. It actually looked like they had making it and that came through the picture.

Ugh. This another one these films that absolutely kills me. You really had me the for the first minute of the film. I was in cinematic heaven. And then, the script reared it's ugly head. First the 28th coming of the hill people, and then the over-the-top Reservoir Dogs ear-cutting torture scene (hey, I've got that cheese grater in my kitchen drawer!). Whyyyy????? I want to strangle you! (Well, not really, but...)

Dude, THIS FILM LOOKS F*CKING AWESOME!!!

Now, I watched this in all it's 400 line Quicktime glory like the rest of them, sand I'm somewhat technically challenged when it comes to digital filmmaking, but to me, this was just about THE best looking film in the fest. Editing was top notch. The FLOW, well, I was ready to take a ride, brother!

I really hope you can get your hands on a good script because there's extreme amounts of talent behind the camera in all departments.
