Jello Tests, GH1 v. GH2?

I saw some nasty jello on some Gh1 footage recently. It appeared totally unusable handheld. Any scientific tests comparing the two models?

Also -- if anyone knows if the TM700 can be hacked, it's got some potential (60P / 28Mb/s).

You know.. the jello issue is a very weird thing... I have gotten pretty good with doing hand held 'cheats' meaning.... just grab your tripod and put all the legs in, but extend the top part up enough so your hand can grab the top neck, and viola, instant el cheapo steadicam and it works pretty good and I don't see much jello even with fairly fast movement... check out the main clip I have up on my site:

then... about two clips after, I have an actual REAL handheld shot of one of the puppets I do, and the jello is pretty bad.. so I have been using my fake tripod steadicam method more and more.. your hand does these little wiggles and thats what causes the jello... if you have some form, any form of counterweight under your gh1 or gh2, you can greatly reduce if not almost totally eliminate jello.

just saw some of your videos.
notes:
1- you're actually funny
2- nice dogs + dad
3- you used THE SAME nature&birds sound fx recording i've downloaded for my ringtone !! isn't that a small world?

It's worth between $250,000 to $500,000. I've had it since 1995. I have been sued by or threatened ... lets see now... Britney Spears... the Transformers people... several rap groups and bands... however - I set precedent and won the case because I am the only living person who performs under that name while the others are just fictional characters or names of something like an album or collection. I fought facebook for almost a year to win the 'official' blackout page on there too.

Here's the story, of a man named Blackout, who has been dong his crazy thing since he was a sperm. He's a strange lad, with a bunch of hats, and audio video equipment:

My real name is Michael Biggins, I perform under both that name and Blackout.. depending on the project.

Yeah... I try to do most of my own foley stuff as I have high end mics and even the little zoom h4n is amazing for ambiance, but when in a rush... freesound!

what would be the best audio option for my no budget run gun narrative shooting ? a soundman with a h4n ?

Well.. h4ns vary... I had mine modded to put new preamps in it but the guy who did it doesn't want to do it anymore. You need a really good boom and an h4n can work wonders, but they are of various build quality so you may get one that sounds good or ok, or one that sounds like cardboard.

The on board mics are good for ambiance and room tone and sfx.

I should have that URL. I did a film called blackout that seems even more real than you. I'm calling my lawyer :0)

Haha! Get in line with the other 20 films on IMDB called Blackout ot "the Blackout".. but a film ain't a real person!

And snicky, no, you can't write you'r e own wiki article they will just delete it. I guess it was written by some fans of my site & radio show.. it's been up a few years... I am a 'talent' gone 'tech' and go back and forth on both sides of the camera and microphone.

And I DID answer about the jello.... use some form of counterweight under the came and it greatly reduces it. Also the hacked GH1.3 seems to be slightly better about it, and the gh2 even more so? Not sure on that yet.

again... shot of city done by putting camera on a bag of rice...

car shot done by putting camera on sandbag... tripod wouldn't go as low as I wanted...

Champagne glass shot standard tripod fluid head tilt....

Crazy lights scene, handheld using tripod as counterweight. Lots of movement, 1080p 20mm lens.. low light.. no to very little jello.
This is just a rough first edit of the opening sequence of a music video.
