Passed by a local Japanese garden for a quick opportunity to test out internal V-Log L recording. Second round of shots with the new profile, handheld with the 14-45mm f/3.5 lens, no filters. Assembled and edited in FCP X.

Nice, how do you feel about internal VLog?

Pretty positive.

I want to do more shooting, particularly with supports to make sure some issues I think I'm seeing are not related to micro jitters (it's amazing how others bad opinions can make one doubt one's eyes).

Also need to do some faces and different lighting scenarios.

But so far I do like what I'm seeing. Thanks for checking it out.

Were you shooting overexposed on vlog? I have found that I don't shoot at least 2 stops over that the image is very noisy.

Yes, in the early attempts I wasn't really clued into the overexposing process. Since then everything is pretty much two stops over if possible.

Question on this 'over exposing'

If this is standard practice (and a recommendation by Panasonic) - I wonder why they didn't change the metering readout (when in VLOGL mode) to show the meter at +/-0 when at +2. If that makes sense?

Don't know. I imaging that would require a fair amount of coding to compensate for that one scenario. However, I did a small shoot over the weekend where we were using an Atomos recorder. One of the guys put up a LUT that actually compensated for the overexposing. It worked really well.
