Hi Jan, that was a great presentation of the camera yesterday at Ables. I was the heckler up front next to Adam. Well I didnt really heckle, just made sound effects and munched cookies. I did think of one question after I left. When you say its digital data thats on the card, does that mean its in a movie format like .Mov? You kept saying its digital data but never mentioned what that ment as far as format.
Thank you again for presenting.

I believe they said the format was MXF format.

I'm not too familiar with the MXF format. Is that somethingg that's natively read by Final Cut or Avid?

Wow. Digital data! Just like the digital data on every other digital medium... 3.5" floppies, miniDV tape, CD-ROM, DVDs, hard drives... To me the best thing about P2 is that it's fast and random-access. "Digital" is nothing to brag about. It's like "satelite TV... now with 100% digital quality!!!" means absolutely nothing.

They should be more specific and say "directly transferable to other media with no conversion necessary". The way it is they'll just get picked on by irritated people on the internet.

The marketing people think if they throw in the word *Digital* every now and then.....It'll help sell the product. For the average consumer....they may be right!!

But everybody knows us DVX'erz are NO average Jo Blow Consumers!!

I don't think the HVX really is digital. I just googled "Panasonic HVX Spare parts" and this popped up:

LMAO!!

While were off topic:

JAN....while you were in New York.....did you stop by and see our *boy*.....The Brooklyn Bear himself....LEBROZ!!?? Just wondering. You know....cause' he's always asking you for a job and what not. Thought you might have stopped by and picked up his application, resume, and cover letter.

Digital. Digitized. No capturing. We've gone from shoot - capture - edit to shoot - edit. P2 is pretty sweet.
