FS5: Jam Syncing Trick for FS5

I just saw this video from my buddy Dave Dugdale about how he jam syncs his Sony cameras. It's not officially jam synced, but using the TC Reset button on our remote controls we can cync the timecode on multiple sony cameras, as long as they are in the beam of the remote. I have not tried this, but it looks interesting. I wasn't even aware you could reset the TC on the FS5, so even that is cool if you just want to know how long a shot is. As you may well know, Sony's handling of the TC on the FS5 is lacking in any useful functionality since you can't just have it zero out for every shot to show you how long you are recording for.

Actually, you are confusing timecode with the duration counter that some of Sony's cameras have, such as the FS7 and F55. The actual timecode is never reset to zero on each shot with any of those cameras, as that would be a huge mess in post. But I agree that the duration counter is a sorely missed feature on the FS5.

Well, that is actually really, really good tip. Doug, any idea if FS7 internal clock accuracy is any better then A7x?

As Dave said, he lost one frame after an hour or two. That's not bad. I just don't have any other cameras to try this with.
