Jailbreaking

AFAIK, no legal issues befell the hack. Legality of this project was questionable before, but now it is unequivocally clear: hacking your Gx1 using PTools is legal. It is also still legal for Panasonic to block hacking, if they choose too. I presume same goes for refusing to warranty hacked cameras. This ruling, however, gives important legal cover for the GH13 Development team and owners who publicly chose to disclose hacking activity. I think it is beneficial to all parties involved, as it offers clear guidelines to what previously was a gray area. Above is only my opinion of course, as I am no lawyer.

Any modification to a product (whether GH1 or toaster) is generally going to void a manufacturer's warranty as it should. No manufacturer should have to fix (at no charge) a product its consumer has decided to change.
