"Jaggies" in mini DV

Iujst had a client complain about "jaggies" on SD footage from tape off my HVX in miniDV tape. That footage had OIS in, but I shot some other footage later specifically school buses with noticable horizontal lines & noticed it as well.
I don't have a DVX to compare to.
I did notice just looking directly in a monitor that it seemed better in Progressive & 24P was better than 30.
I'm wondering if this is worse on the HVX than the DVX because it is nartive progressive.
BTW I was in Thick (default anyway,)

Was this with 60i footage? Something similar happened to me with my DVX when shooting in 60i. Almost as if the fields would reverse themselves for a few seconds at a time. then back to normal. This usually happened on panning shots.

Well it definately seems worse on motion and particularely with straight diagonal lines.
Maybe it is just a DV artifact that I never noticed so badly before. It really jumped out at me and my client who is an editor used to these things.

When shooting in SD for 60i, don't forget to use the Thick setting to resolve the jaggies as there is just too much information being recorded for standard video playback.

Best,

I'm pretty sure I was using Thick.
Guess I need to check against a DVX. If anybody has both, have you compared them to each other in SD DV 60i?
In 24P the HVX looks great for sure.
I'd be happy to be told they look the same.

OK I just compared a DVX 100A with my HVX and though it was a fast comparison it seemed to confirm that some interlace artifacts are significantly worse on the HVX when in 60i mode.
I was looking particularely at straight diagonal lines when the camera moves across them.
The difference disappears in Progressive , and it is affected by detail setting. I could minimise it by reducing detail to -3 in the HVX but it then seemed noticable softer than the DVX.
Don't know whether this is due to how the interlace is created in both cameras or the fact that I was looking at 4:3 and thus sampling a smaller chip area in the HVX.
It bummed me though because I am using this largely still as a miniDV camera and I now have to think twice if someone wants footage in 60i.
It is common for me to have to shoot footage that will intercut with both 1/3" and 2/3" interlace cameras.
I didn't try playing w/vertical detail settings just overall detail (That's next). I also judged directly off Y/C cable into the monitor in E:E not off tape.

Again both cameras were in Thick mode.

I'm interested in whether anybody else confirms this or finds no difference.

Well that's a kick in the head.
So you don't see any of those interlace jaggies on diagonal lines?
I guess that's good news.
I hope other people chime in.
Maybe I need to look again more carefully.
Can't do it till next week though.

In what way do you prefer the HVX in 60i?
Are you shooting 4:3 or 16:9. I'm only looking at 4:3.
