Jagged Reds with HVX in SD

I have an important question, I have been doing tests with my HVX in SD using tapes, and I’ve found that “Reds” have been giving me terrible problems. Is there anywhere in FCP that I can fix this? I’ve tried using the Color Smoothing – 4:1:1 filter, and it seems to work until I render it out, then it reverts back to this choppy image. Any one else experimenting this?

Welcome to the hell of DV. All DV cameras do that.

Try it to P2 using DVCPRO50 and you should see the problem practically disappear.

Same happened to me with the hvx, and Barry is right, it's just a DV compression thing. Also, it doesn't look quite as bad on a tv, computer monitors do exaggerate it a bit.
