"Jagged" edges to PIS 240 output in FCP7....Ideas?

I meant PIX 240 output, not PIS!!! Can't figure out how to edit that if indeed one can, anyway.

Here I go again displaying a pitiful lack of technical knowledge and appealing once more to those on our Forum who doubtless know better!
It also may be the wrong Forum, maybe this post should be in the Non Linear editing Forum, let me know if that's the case.

But anyway here's the issue:
I've been running some SLog tests recording to my PIX 240 out of BNC A, with SLog initiated of course. Camera is set for PAL output.
So when I import the media from the PIX SSD into FCP7 to view it I see that when there's a camera movement, or a zoom move, ( in other words image movement of any kind ), I get "jagged edges" rather like saw teeth appearing all over the image especially where there's a change of colour or contrast.
Hope I've explained that clearly.

It is no doubt a setting that I've missed somewhere either on the camera to PIX or more likely in FCP, ( the FCP7 Sequence PreSet is at XDCAM 1080p25 VBR ). Should the Sequences be set to another setting for the PIX 240's recorded media?

Any idea what I could be doing wrong here?

Thanks all!
Peter

What are you looking on? Computerscreen or hooked up monitor? If you look straight out of the Pix on a Monitor do you still have the same problem?

Is your viewer window in FCP scaled to 100% or is FCP scaling down the image to fit in the window? If you're not monitoring a 100% scaled image, you'll get those jaggies.

Thanks Tom and Andrew for these two swift replies. I am not at my studio right now but I will check on both of your questions / suggestions and get back to you as soon as I can.
I am by the way looking at the 27" iMac's screen that runs my copy of FCP7, I don't have a production monitor here, and I haven't checked PIX playback either but will later.

First of all you have to set your timeline to the format that you are recording to your PIX. I'll assume it is some form of ProRes hopefully HQ. That is what you set your timeline to.

What were you recording at 1080 25P? If yuour timeline is different than your files FCP will prompt & ask if you want the timeline to be the same as your files. Just say yes. If problem persists then you need to do more sleuthing.
