Jag35 Field Runner Shoulder Rig Or DIY Rig for T2I?

I recently bought a T2I (should be here in a few days :cheesy and for Christmas my parents want to get me something to go with it, So i was planing on asking for a follow focus and maybe a cheaper rig ($600 dollars for a full shoulder rig from Jag 35 is crazy in my opinion.) So what are your opinions, should I try to get a field runner or supplies for a Good DIY rig that can hold a D focus? Also if I get the field runner should i get the offset rails raised?

you need raised offset rails if you want to use an eye viewer - eg lcdvf

they are very handy for shooting in the sun and a help with focus
