Mark Johnson said:I was driving in from Wichita and thinking about how much Barry's HVX book helped me and I remembered my favorite George C. Scott line from Patton. Thus, the woman I passed slowly on the freeway must have thought I was a lunatic when she looked over and saw me pounding the steering wheel and shouting at the top of my lungs, "Barry, you sonuvabitch! I read your book!"
Cynic, you are way off base here. If you had followed Jack's "career" from Shed onward you would know he is ANYTHING but an "established gentleman of leisure." It's not my place to discuss his finances here but suffice it to say he is much more the "starving artist" than the "gentleman of leisure."Cynic821 said:My thoughts further to the fact that the Prizes mainly the HVX can really further someones career and make a huge difference in someones life, where i feel that you may just be apart of this to win, knowing how good your product will be especially compared to most here. The difference is there Jack, you know it. Im not accusing anything, just my honesty though, its a compliment to the movie. What would the prize do for you? Nothing you cant do on your own, established gentleman of leisure you are. Flying in and out, actors. It would be a shame that the contest can mean so much more to someone who couldnt afford not just the HVX but the baseplate even, or the varizoom even.
I'm confused why you say everyone doesn't have the resources to do what he has done?Cynic821 said:Its the unpopular opinion to criticize his work though, and i praised it, so whats the big deal, i dont know. I personally dont think anyone has the resources to do what he has done. And dont say people didnt work hard, whether the quality of the movie was in question or not. they worked hard. Movie Master worked hard, i worked hard. Whos to say who worked harder than who?
