i agree.

I think the gimmick's great, but I worry i'll be disappointed with the final product.

Also, i like the look of the teaser. I don't like how clean the trailer looks. Why are these guys running around with panavision cameras, you know? and what about changin mags every 10 minutes? ... just sayin'

Yeah, but you know some guys just keep panavision's in there apartment and run around with a crew when daister strikes, I bet he's one of them.

I'm pretty excited about this, however the mid January release date generally means low box office numbers...
 
In this month's ICG magazine there is a pretty good article with the DP from Cloverfield, and alot of pictures, Ive seen 2 production pics with them holding HVX200s, another pic with the actors holding what looks like a Panasonic HSC1U and Im not sure what the Canon camera ended up being. And I'd say they used a heavy duty hype machine as well, theyre really working the movie up...
 
You'd think that if he were running around with a nice camera like that, he'd at least have invested in a nice steadycam to go with it...

I originally came across that in early Aug. I dont remember where it was posted, but it was Cloverfield doing pickup shots in New York. From my understanding it was a still and not a frame grab.

I just did a little search and cant find the original article/possible blog post. Was was confirmed Cloverfield, though.
 
i cant wait for the DVD and the bonuses..... shoudl be good i hope.... i'm looking forward to that more thatn the movie itself.. :D
 
yeah... the 3d is pretty bad. the end isnt SO bad, but could be better. Nice idea, too bad it was so poorly executed.

I'm really a fan of their viral marketing. There was early speculation it would cause overload, but I think people are ready for the film.
