iZotrope Elements = $9.99

At the bottom of the page it says 'Note: This download is eligible for a free upgrade to RX 7'. For those who have taken up this offer, what exactly does this mean: surely not a free upgrade to RX 7 Standard at RRP $399?!

Cheers,

Roland

Hi Roland I just bought this and it is and the upgrade is to RX7 elements.

Thanks for the heads up and all working great in Logic X.

Hi Roland I just bought this and it is and the upgrade is to RX7 elements.

However, the upgrade to RX7 Standard from RX Elements is only $269 ($399 for RX7 Standard at full price... basically, discounted the $130 for RX7 Elements). This means you can get into the full RX7 Standard for less than $270. That’s a darn good deal.

My guess is that's old text left over from a promo for RX6 Elements, perhaps just before the release of RX7.

BTW- Here's a chart comparing the features the features of RX Elements, Standard, and Advanced:

Like Alex says, this is a good time to upgrade to Standard...

...

It is an electronic copy. I am guessing that Izotope is priming people to buy RX8 when it is released. At this price, pretty much anybody who has ever touched an NLE or DAW and doesn't already own these programs should buy in. Even the people that might be working on less than legal full versions.

Hmmm. Listing on B&H seems to say that even elements has the spectral repair which is the most intriguing part about this for me.

I meant "copy" as in "text." D'oh on me. ;-)

Also, at least some NLEs already include iZotope code; they have a fairly robust licensing business. But at $10, might as well get iZotope's latest. I use iZotope RX a lot.

I have RX-6 Elements on my studio desktop PC and recall seeing the spectral display in the RX6 Elements Audio Editor.. In my brief perusal, I recall it had the usual spectral edit tools. The "audio editor" is a stand alone app, not the RX-6 Elements VST plug-ins which are de-hum de-click, de-clip & de-noise. I'll look into this ASAP. Ten bucks is a hell of a deal regardless.

It has the spectral edit tools, but not spectral repair, which analyzes the audio around your edit and fills in the deleted area seamlessly. Agreed, it's still a hell of a deal, but their description is incorrect.

RX7 just came out in September. I don’t think they’re priming anyone for an upgrade that’s 9 months away.

$10 is a no brainer... though the coolest stuff doesn’t show up until the Advanced level.
