F35: I've completed my documentary - 4 years after the undertaking

So yep, I'm finally done with this short documentary. A journey I started 4 years ago. It took us hundreds of hours of planing and two trips to Mauritania to get enough footage. And then another two years to put it all together in my spare time. I'll be screening this at select film festivals for the next year but here's a preview for you guys.

The shooting conditions were pretty extreme. Mauritania has minimal infrastructure in place. We were traveling with only a crew of 4 and ultra low budget. Even though the Sony F35 package was reduced to a minimum, it was still a heavy beast that required a bunch of Vlock batteries, steel speedrail for the dana dolly, etc... but I did not want to compromise on image quality.

*edit: I am unable to embed the vimeo videos here, this sucks...

Best of luck with the release. Very engaging. As usual, excellent work. Thanks for sharing. It is a pleasure to have you as part of the forum here. You are an inspiration.

Looks wonderful Miguel. Will there be a voiceover component to the finished piece, or are you sticking with text and images?

Great editing, including sound editing! Congrats to you and your crew for sticking through what looked like arduous locations --- not just making it through but bringing back great images and sound.

So Great Mac!

That train ride looks dangerous, but well worth the images!

Happy you finished this. Congrats to the team! A Adro con ganas de verlo!

YES... NYC screening for when?

Ahh....

Gorgeous as usual, Sir.

You and that F35 are a spectacular pair.

This is some "Ron Fricke level ****'.

This all available light right? But not sony lenses right? I remember you asked for light weight lens when you start this.

Yes mac and F35 is perfect pair. We see videos in this forum from other cameras and looking very video. 4K camera, new camera, expensive camera, cheap camera no matter. All looking like ugly video. Mac go to the desert with nothing and make this great cinematic images with F35. Mac is great and F35 too. Perfect pair for sure.

Actually that shot is the 35mm sony cinealta lens.
I did two trips, first one was with mostly Nikon glass, second one was mostly Sony PL glass.

This looks absolutely incredible Mac! This, LA 91, and Snakebite look indistinguishable from film. Can you share your grading process?
