DOC: iTunes Podcast Film!

My Name is Benel Jorgensen, I am a part time writer and full time event planner, In todays world, most of us know what a Podcast is and most of us listen to them, we can download them from all over the internet. The main place being Apple's iTunes. There are hundreds of thousands of Podcasts from Comedy to business to medical ect, so why hasn't there been a film made about them.

Apple have commisioned First time director/Blogger/Podcaster Ben Johnson to shoot a documentary about Podcasts. This is rumored to be a Comedy film and will be up for a free download on the istore mid way through June. I have had the pleasure with speaking to Ben over twitter and he confirmed the rumors "yeah the film is set to be made, just waiting for a few more things" he kept the story line of the film to himself "if I tell you what it's about you wont be as shocked, and thats what I'm trying to do. Shoot a film that has already got an audience and make it so fresh, who says podcasts have to be boring and serious look at Kevin Smith's Smodcast".

It's so funny that I have come across this, I rarely scroll through forums but good job I did. I heard this film was to be produced by Scott Mosier (of Smodcast) I don't know if this is true or not but I really hope it is I love the Viewaskew films. I think a film aboit podcasts will be very cool, especially if its on Comedy Podcasts which I'm sure it will be if Scott Mosier and Ben Johnson are doing. I know he's afirst time director but I have listened to his Podcast and I'm an avid reader of his blog and that guy is super funny.

I heard that he was offered distribution prior to filming, but rejected and opted to put it on youtube and iTunes is this true, because this shows hes not in it just for the money like some of the others. I for one will be downloading this.
 
I can assure you Plotless that this is not spam, Podcasts are massive and a documentary about them doesn't seam so out of the ordinary.... although I haven't heard anything about Scott Mosier producing I think this may be just a rumor, but production has started on the film and its being kept quiet for the moment because Johnson is a first time director. Apple have final say in the finished project. Johnson told me that there will be a poster teaser, online within a fortnight.
