Just got my DVX-100A, and shot a couple of minutes for test purposes. I attached a 4-pin to 6-pin 1394 cable and hooked it up to my iMac. Nothing! What am I doing wrong. How do you view/digitize from the camera to the computer hard drive? I also have Avid Express DV and nothing there either! As you can see, I am VERY new to all this and feel like a fool. Please help!

heres a little step by step for you..
1. Plug firewire into cam, and comp.
2. Turn on the camera.
3. Set it to VTR mode (ie VCR mode) with the little button next to the battery at the bottom.(left of battery)
4. Open Avid Express DV.
5. Open the Capture tool window.
The camera should be recognized by the Avid Capture tool. You should be able to play the footage using the controls on the computer and view it in the source window.
If that is causing to manny problems.. you could always try and use iMovie to capture.
