Smoke a bowl, pop a bottle, or chug a can. :) Thank you DVXuser for being an amazing school.

Congrats and good to see you here still. What's going on in your life / career these days?

Really great things Drew. Filmmaking wise, still make a part of my living doing corporate gigs and weddings, but my acting career has taken an interesting and positive turn lately. All I'm allowed to say for the time being is that I'm working on a new video game being made by a lovely company in Montreal :)

I recently wrote and pitched a show to networks, along with my writing partner and producer. It didn't get picked up, but the experience was amazing. We're currently writing a new feature. Really wish I was creating opportunity with original content as opposed to penniless short films and passion projects. So in many respects, I'm exactly where I was many years ago, just a few steps in the right direction? (who knows really)

And you?

That's all great news. I know what you mean about being exactly where you were a few years ago.

I have been almost entirely outside of the film community for the past 3 years or so. Right now I'm on the 5th draft of a ~500 page book called "The Students," which is about the lives of college students. I spent about a year traveling around the USA to different college campuses, and at each school I'd live with a random student and write about their life for a week. Some of the chapters are intellectual and profound, while a lot of the others read like The Hangover.

I should be publishing within a year. Extremely eager to get back into filmmaking. Doing journalism has been an incredible experience for me, as I learned to observe reality with intensity and create stories out of small things that happened right in front of me. In the meantime I've made a couple small shorts, written a feature, and I still shoot weddings. But mostly life has been focused on this book.

Cheers

That's pretty incredible Drew. :)

Hey, it's macgregor!!! I remember the film from your avatar. Back in the 35mm adapter days. What was that one unit that everyone loved so much but basically never really came out? Lost the most light but looked so creamy, and i (think) you shot that short in your avatar with it? Could be wrong though.

Jeez, Kegan. One of the first guys I met when I moved to Toronto. What he heck is up man? Reach!
