It's here! G10 and G2

Well, seems to me that they released a GH1 with less options. Didn't read the whole specs but IMO slightly seems like a bigger GF1. Wonder when the GH2s getting here?

I dont see the point of having 2 g1s...
is both gonna be cheaper than the gf1? cause id rather have a gf1 than these two. well i like the touch screen but its useless for me.

there must be something wrong here that they're almost look identical in specs...

Enough fields say "N/A" that I think everything in that data set is still being entered.

Either way, anyone noticed 43rumors.com's server seems to have crashed? From traffic?

Confusing chart - I can't tell if one or both have movie modes as it switches saying Not Available here and there on both cameras.

At least there's 6400 iso so hopefully they upped the sensor

perhaps theres more info on the announcements
or if this is it, i find it odd to have very similar product with the other just missing a few firmware features. thats a bad move

Simple -- these are not the replacement or successor for the GH2. They're different products, not intended to be a new GH2. They're not aimed at us. They're 720/30p.

Interesting, the links are down. Though between touchscreen and native 24P I can say I'd pass on the touchscreen feature.

43 rumors went down a while ago but it went back up and now it's down again.
DP Reviews have went down.
It also appeared that even Vimeo went down although I just noticed that it's back up again.

This news is definitely destroying people's bandwidth this late at night.

43r says the infos were premature. pages are still being updated. we will know the real specs in 2 days.

i dont see the point of a g1 succesor if its practically the same as a gf1 minus touch screen. they have to offer something significant.

g10 better have better hardware and specs.

it should be
gfX < gX < gXX < ghX

If focusing-by-pointing-on-the-screen really works as written in the second screen-dump here: http://43rumors.com/hot-g2-and-g10-images/

A Touch is All It Takes:
... Just touch the LCD to indicate the subject, and the G2 focuses on it instantly.

... AF Tracking
Touch the screen, and the G2 locks on and automatically "tracks" the subject as it moves, ...

then I have a lot of non camera savvy friends who will be very enticed by G2 for still photography (Whether they actually need it or not). That's a feature that might make it sell like hot-cakes.

Now, if Panasonic can add that feature in video mode on GH2 (or whatever it could be called) I guess many here would be drooling for it. Although myself I'd also pass on that if it meant instead getting a working HDMI output during shooting for monitoring / manual focusing and a better AVCHD encoding.
