It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia

They bought all their cameras and equipment from us... but they said they have ONE secret weapon: Warm Cards.

I kid you not, the producer flat out said, "The Warm Cards save our ass."

He says it's pretty much all they do with their DVX's.

Thought you might like to know.

PS: Danny Devito is on this season.

1st time posting. Wondering when I would see it out there. I shot 2nd camera on that job. Great crew, great gaffer, and great D.P. Lighting makes all the difference

I'm giving this thread some CPR because I love this show. The DVX looks great with proper lighting. Makes me think my camera is broken.

This show is crazy. Totally whacked out. Right up my alley.

This show is one of the best comedy shows to come out in recent years. Truely inavative. And the dvx looks so good on the show. I'm sure warm cards had something to do with it. But good lighting and a good colorist had allot to do with the look as well.

yeah I've been a sunny fan since the first season...to bad there was only 7 episodes...

anyways, this may be a stupid question but what are warm cards and what do they use them for?

You Use them to change the whitebalance, So you can "White" Balence on diffrent shades to change the Warmth.

yeah they do cost a lot

but yeah I figured they were for white balancing, but I wasn't sure since someone made it sound like it was the biggest part of the production and I was confused.

I use warm cards all the time for the corporate and college stuff I do. Clients really seem to love them. They seem to think I'm performing a magic trick or something.

Just use a 1/4 CTB gel over the lens when white balancing.
Same effect.

Or go in the menu and adjust the WB setting towards "warm".

there was also a thread 'bout making your own warm cards w/ exact paint numbers and stuff.

about the show's videos I liked the cuban monkey one, they took it down now.

According to the producers, they do NO post colorization. It truly is about good lighting and the WarmCards.

By the way, the EVS DVXUser discount for the WarmCards set (in a very nice leather notebook) is $58.

Cheers!

I would be a little bit scared about making my own Warming cards, because i know the Shades of the colors are so Exact, The Warmcard brand is Worth it IMO.
