It was a pretty day so I went shooting.

I got my HVX in December and I haven't had a ton of time to play with it. When I did have time to use it, I wasn't happy with the color that I was getting. No matter what I always got washed out saturated colors. Today it was so pretty that I decided to tweak all of the settings for a couple hours and try to find some that I like outside. Here are some grabs. I was just walking around shooting random things so there isn't any real point to the pictures. I have to say that I am very happy with the way my hvx is set up now. Let me know what you think.

The first two shots are just around campus. The flowers were just right outside my apt. building and I thought the their color looked really good on the camera.

(These were shot in Video mode, 1080 60i) The pictures have been scaled down by 50%

I love the warm feel of the first four shots. The third shot looks great, I love how the flowers aren't blown out like most similar shots I've seen. Would it be okay to ask what your camera settings are?

Sure

Sure

I don't mind at all. I get out of class at 1 o'clock so I as soon as I get back to my apartment I will write down the settings off of my camera and let you know. Of course you know some of them will need to be tweaked according to your shooting location's light level.

****UPDATE***** I accidentally left to go out of town before I looked at my camera settings. I will be back on monday afternoon so as soon as I get back I will post the settings.

Sorry,
Matt

nope, this is a stock HVX with one 16 GB p2 card. I think that lens adapters are awesome, but I feel that some people use them as a crutch for not fully understanding how to fine tweak the settings. If you have a pretty good knowledge of how to use your camera, you should be able to get excellent footage from this thing. A lot of people use the lens adapter for the depth of field. I just pull the camera back from the subject and zoom in. Works well for me. Now, I say this, if I had the money I would buy a lens adapter. I just don't find it an imperative expense at the moment. More power to those who can afford them. :)

I always hug my HVX when I see that kind a material.

For me, the warm feel and look of the HVX can´t be beat by any EX or HPX orwhatnot.

When I got my HVX I did som testshots during my England vacation.
Nothing specal, just basic aim-run and gun to get used to the settings.

And I was blown away by the outcome.

Here are some grabs straight of the HVX. No adapter/CC or anything else.

Frank

Frank, looking at your grabs makes me want to give my HVX a big hug too. The vintage cars shot looks like it comes straight out of a historical piece. Love it.
