Issues with 7Q clips 60fps Project Framerate vs 23.98 timeline

So for some reason all my clips are being imported into Resolve with a 60fps project base. So when the timeline is set to a 23.98 time base, when you count the time it takes for the timeline to get to 60fps and one second has gone by... you have counted actually two and a half seconds in reality. The clips are supposed to be played back at 24fps but for some reason Resolve "sees" them as 60fps. When you go into the individual clip folders there is a file with information about the clips themselves. Is this file from the 7Q or is it from Resolve? It does have two mentions of framerates. One is 23.98 (or some clips it says 239.8???). The other part has "project" in front of it and it reads 60fps. Changing it seems to do nothing. Resolve is reading off that part of the file that says "project 60fps".

The solution at the moment is to right click the clip in Resolve and adjust the clip's framerate to 23.98. It works but I would like to find where this issue is coming from. It is not reflected when importing clips into Speedgrade or After Effects. I have to figure out if it is me or if it is the 7Q or Resolve.

I'm pretty sure I'm missing something obvious. Thanks guys!

On the Odyssey7Q, go to the * menu on the left end of the Upper Tool Bar. Select RECORD --> PROJECT --> FRAMERATE. Make sure to set the speed to the intended playback speed so that you do not have to reset it in post. The Odyssey7Q will always capture every individual frame. This setting is only for the playback speed.

It does if you set it to do that ('follows input' is one of the options, it's usually the default). It sounds like someone else used your unit and manually set the project rate to 60fps (the unit remembers this setting).

It's easy enough to change the frame rate of clips in Resolve though. Just highlight all the relevant clips in the media pool, right click to bring up the sub-menu, select 'clip attributes' then clip frame rate and set it to 23.98. Simples.

Yes it was rented out. Being unaware of that option it was probably changed and I just didn't look for it. All good to go. Thank you!

Exactly the same thing happened to me. Which is how I know. I probably should just read the manual, but seeing as I'm not a girl...
