Hallo, i hope somebody could help me in this situation.
I'm tryng to capture the vhs footage with my old Sony FX1 connecting the VHS recorder to my camcorder trough S-video. The problem is that the image that my camcorder capture from the VHS are coming in Black And White.
I even tryed to connect the single yellow cable frome the xit of the VHS recorder to my Sony camcorder and....the image is still in black and white.
Any idea?
Thank you so much for your kind help

The timebase of the VHS is totally unreferenced and really needs to go through a TBC or in/out through a VTR that has an inbuilt TBC. All the H and V sync timing and the color burst information needs to be reclocked. See if you can beg, borrow, steal, or hire a TBC from a video equipment rental house. You should be able to hire one for next to nix as who uses them these days? Failing that try to get hold of or hire something like as Sony DSR-11, should be able to hire those dead cheap. They have "S" video in/out and a multi-line stabilizer which will stabilize the incoming video and output a stable signal which you should be able to record successfully.
