Issue with EW100 wireless lav mic setup... hissing and no pickup

Hi guys,

Was testing out my wireless lav setup after a few months of not using, and can't get it to pick up any audio at all.

I changed batteries, tried different frequencies, tried different mics, but it's not displaying any levels and I just get a cracking, hissing sound???

Any thoughts on why this might be, and what I can try to solve it?

I think it is the G2 btw.

Upon testing it now, it's picking up audio, but there's a very constant clicking / bitty hiss noise, every second or so. It's not extremely loud, but definitely not useable.

I'm linking out to the DR70d but also want to go directly into the Sony FS7.

The microphone cablemay have been compromised if RF interference has been ruled out. Usually at the connector end (repairable) or element end (typically not repairable). Common breakage points.
OTOH, 'hissing' is normally associated with an RF issue. Do the antennas show signs or breakage?

Of course, without actually hearing what you're hearing, any advice is shooting blind. Can you post a sample recording of what you're experiencing?
