Issue with AG-HSC1UE

I have this little 3 years old AG-HSC1UE, which was sold as a pro model. It game with external harddisk you could download 40 GB worth of SD cards. Same model (different colour) only , HDCSD1 was also sold as consumer model with much lower price. So we were expecting to get pro-class aftersales service.

What happenend was that camera broke, it didn't accept any SD card anymore and guess was was the answer our importing company got from Panasonic: " sorry no spareparts to this model anymore: It's only about 3 years old!! Pana sold this as a promodel, got a good money out of it, but don't want to back up this model by any means... Th epart not available was "a sub p.c.b".

Hope HVX 200 and HPX 170 have better aftersales service.

I was sort of hoping the someone from Panasonic would have taken a minute and answered my original question Jane C maybe, she is quite active otherwise?

Its 3 years old but expect it to be covered by a 1 year warranty?

Even if they had the parts and you elected to have it fixed, repair would probably come close or exceed the price of the newer model.

Was I misunderstood? I asked why Panasonic don't provide spareparts to this so called (semi)pro model, I didn't ask 3 years warranty, only that they would give aftersales support (spares) for any price. This is sort of princible question to me. "Obsolete aging" is nice way to increase sales, if everybody has same policy, do they have (like the pulp kartell)? Jane Critendale hasn't had time to answer this either?

I understand your frustration, but you have no reason to put Jan in a position where you make it sound like she's ignorant. I don't think this is her part at Panasonic, she is by no means responsible for what happened to you and your camera.
Instead of spilling energy here, take it with Panasonic or just buy a new camera, because nothing you will write here will make your camera work nor will it make you feel better with your attitude.

Good luck!

Well I don't know about my attitube, just hoped somebody would have replied from Pana, but no... This certainly isn't bothering me much anymore, about forgot it already. My point really is the obsolete aging of products. I see it happening all the time. By a way, I did take this to Pana's service but they were helpless and couldn't help. Maybe this is the way it goes more and moe. The cost of service is so high already, that you just have to cross your fingers. I am glad my 170 & 200 are working ok though...
